Amazing Polina's taking gold

Polina Edmunds glided through her enchanting 'Peter Pan' free skate, landing an impressive array of jumps and executing a series of effortless spins. The 2014 Olympian earned 122.99 points for the segment and 184.02 overall to move up from fourth and nab the gold, her first medal at an ISU championship.

Edmunds produced a triple Lutz-triple toe, a triple flip-single loop-triple Salchow as well as three more triple jumps and two Level 4 spins in her program to "Fairy dance" from the Peter Pan soundtrack by James Newton Howard. The 16-year-old posted a new season's best with 122.99 points to come away with a total of 184.02 points to take gold.

"This competition, I wanted to skate well to gain momentum going into worlds," Edmunds said. "I knew that I had a shot (at gold) if I skated two clean programs. We have the same or more elements than everyone in the top five that were in the warm-up. In the short program, we were held close together and I knew if I relaxed and skated like I knew I could, it was possible. I'm happy it came true."

Congratulations Polina! :)
